Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Biblical Society launched in the municipality of Chibia, Huíla province, for the first time, the Bible translated into the Nyaneka Muíla language.

This is the first official translation of the Bible in the Nyaneka Muila language, one of the 11 variants of Nyaneka, which took 10 years to prepare, a work that included the participation of three translators, six reviewers, four consultants from different religious denominations and the communities where the final product was tested.

In each of the 10 years of work, between 35 and 40 thousand US dollars were spent and the translated New Testament initially had a circulation of four thousand 999 copies, printed in Brazil, a number that could increase depending on demand, according to com, the general secretary of the Angolan Bible Society, Beatriz Hupa.

Speaking on the sidelines of the launch event of the Holy Book, Beatriz Hupa highlighted that the association works with all churches in the production and distribution of the Bible, whose objective is to reach the largest number of believers and preach the gospel to all people who He has the word of God translated into his own language.

Secondly, Beatriz Hupa, the implementation of the project received support from individuals from countries such as Holland, the United States of America and England, who, upon learning that some people had not yet had contact with the Bible in their own language, became aware and mobilized resources for the cause.

The project, according to the source, will present the Bible in nine other languages, namely Umbundo, Kigongo, which are already under review, Bangala, Nganguela, Songo, Nkumbi, Kimbundo do Cuanza Sul and Oshikwanhamama, the latter, in a cross-border project, already covering Namibia.

In turn, the Project Coordinator of the Bible Translation Commission in Nyaneka, Pastor Joaquim Cambinda Ngolo, from the IESA church, pointed out that the Nyaneka people have the New Testament with a quality translation.
