Africa-Press – Angola. Five people died this Saturday, in the village of Epongoloco, municipality of Cunhinga, Bié province, after triggering an anti-tank mine.

The victims, three men and two women, aged between 12 and 56, were traveling on a three-wheel motorbike and died at the scene.

The provincial representative of the National Mine Action Agency (ANAM), Ismael Brito, said it was the first case of mine victims this year, in the province of Bié.

In 2023, 10 people lost their lives and eight others were injured, as a result of seven accidents involving mines and other unexploded explosive devices.
