FNLA formalizes candidacy for the August General Elections

Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary general of the FNLA, Aguiar Laurindo, revealed in the municipality of Quiçama, province of Luanda, that the party will deliver to the Constitutional Court, this week, the process for the formalization of the candidacy for the General Elections of 24 August.

“The process for formalizing the candidacy of the FNLA to the Supreme Court will take place during this week. In other words, to be more precise, between Wednesday and Thursday”, revealed last Saturday, in Quiçama, Aguiar Laurindo, when making statements to the press, at the end of a field activity.

According to the general secretary of the “Irmãos”, the party leadership has already received the signatures collected locally from all the provinces and, at that moment, the work of tidying up and verifying the processes is underway. Then follows the presentation of the program which, according to Aguiar Laurindo, will mainly cover the social areas, with emphasis on Health, Education, Employment and Social Security.

Regarding the field activity in Quiçama, Aguiar Laurindo assured that the FNLA is known by the local populations. The politician said that the massive presence of militants from Luanda, wearing t-shirts, hats and flags, in addition to other accessories with the face of the party leader, Nimi a Simbi, shows the attention given to this locality.

“We cannot say that the population of Quiçama does not know the FNLA. They know it very well, perhaps what has been lacking is for the party to appear more often among these populations”, he said.

In his opinion, Quiçama is a locality with a little concentrated population, in terms of community groups, justifying that it lives in spaces separated by one or two kilometers. The politician assured that the FNLA, in the pre-campaign rehearsal, is already at a level of ascending, in terms of preparation of what will be the participation in the elections, because, as time passes, they are observing that the militants are awakening.

As for the message left to the people of Quiçama, since his opponent, the MPLA, almost completely dominated the party colors, Aguiar Laurindo assured that this results from the encouragement and hope that the FNLA is transmitting.

“We are also leaving some media, where the images of our organization appear, more specifically that of the president of the party and the flag”, he explained, stressing that “we distribute to the population so that they can fix the images of the FNLA”.

Regarding the huge publicity of the MPLA’s colors in Quiçama, Aguiar Laurindo said that the explanation lies in the fact that the Angolan population, little by little, is demonstrating a great democratic culture.

The secretary general of the FNLA, Aguiar Laurindo, stressed that regardless of whether each person has a party preference, it does not deprive them of their right to receive activity from any other political organization. “Even seeing that many citizens here may already have a partisan preference, other than the FNLA, but they received our pamphlets, as we were raising awareness, “demonstrating that they understand that we are all Angolans”.

Citizens, he continued, must receive messages from other political formations, in order to be able to evaluate what are the programs that the parties will present during the electoral campaign, in order to choose, in conscience, those that can really solve their problems. everyday.

The head of the historical party acknowledged that there were improvements in the municipality of Quiçama, precisely with regard to energy and water, but he was concerned about the precariousness of the houses, as they are, in considerable numbers, from Pau to Pique, and many need improvements.
