Africa-Press – Angola. Foreign Minister Téte António paid tribute on Monday, on behalf of the Angolan Government, to the memory of the Serbian citizens who recently lost their lives due to the collapse of the roof of a railway station in the city of Novi Sad, in northern Serbia.
To this end, the head of Angolan diplomacy traveled yesterday to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Luanda, where he signed the book of condolences and paid tribute to the Government and the Serbian people.
Téte António highlighted the country’s solidarity with the bereaved families and recalled the fraternity that existed between the two peoples and nations before Independence. He stressed that the Republic of Angola closely follows the suffering of a “brotherly people” that has always shown solidarity with the Angolan people, even in the most difficult moments of its history.
The tragedy occurred on November 1, when the roof of the Novi Sad railway station collapsed due to adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain and strong winds that affected the region.
The incident resulted in several deaths and many injuries, sparking a wave of consternation across Serbia.
In light of the situation, the international community has expressed support and solidarity with the Serbian people at this time of mourning.
