Africa-Press – Angola. Asked why so far the organizations that have already submitted the requests have been waiting for 15 days, the spokesperson replied that the process could not start outside the legal deadlines.
“The Law establishes that electoral observation, as an activity, begins 30 days before the date set for the elections and if the elections are scheduled for 24 August, it means that electoral observation, as an activity, must start on 24 August. July, and the law also establishes that the process of requesting submission of requests for electoral observation must take place 30 days before, “he insisted.
He referred that the CNE is carrying out all the tasks entrusted by the Law, stating that everything is done: the elections have been called, the computer files of the older citizens are at the disposal of the Commission and the Constitutional Court, and it is, based on them, that the mapping of polling stations will be completed, the number of polling stations to be installed in the country will be determined, and the process of recruiting polling station members who will work on election day will begin.
“The announcement of the contest was approved today and will be launched by the broadcasting bodies. Likewise, it will be possible, with the completion of the mapping, to start the process of accreditation of other electoral agents, such as those linked to the lists of political parties. I need them to be those whose candidacies will be approved by the TC. Therefore, all the conditions are created, in the CNE’s view, for us to have an electoral process in accordance with what the legislation establishes”, he assured.
