Africa-Press – Angola. Sagrada Esperança traveled this Saturday, to the province of Uíge, where they will face Santa Rita de Cássia, Sunday, at 3 pm, in the opening round of Girabola 2023/24, a duel that Roque Sapiri foresees “many” difficulties, but he believes he will win, because he prepared the team for this purpose.
In the last eight clashes between the two teams, there were two draws and six wins for Sagrada Esperança.
Last season (2022/23), the “Lundas” beat Católicos, 1-0, in the first round, at Uíge, and in the second round, they received and won again, 3-0, at Dundo.
At the launch of the game, Roque Sapiri said that the statistical data from direct confrontations “are part of the past and should not leave your team relaxed or convinced”.
“At the beginning of the season, we are all strangers, we still don’t know how each team plays, and that requires a lot of consideration from us, respect for the opponent and above all, serenity”, he stressed.
He assured that physically the team is at a good level to start the championship and “the results obtained in the preparation games support this ambition”.
“We are sure that we will encounter numerous difficulties, but the most important thing is to fight to win the three points, which can increase our motivation for the rest of the championship”, he stressed.
In the 2023/24 season, Sagrada Esperança was in third place.
