Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Cazenga has immense challenges to overcome in the Education sector, macro-drainage, secondary and tertiary roads, admitted yesterday, at the Mediateca Zé Du, the provincial governor of Luanda.

Speaking at the opening of the GPL’s ordinary session, held within the framework of the “Governing Together” program, Manuel Homem said that the Municipal Administration is creating conditions so that better solutions can be found.

The meeting served to evaluate the findings made during the two-day working visit to that location.

According to the provincial governor, the visit made it possible to find some solutions to the problems identified.

“The objective is to have governance closer to citizens”, said the government official to members of the GPL and municipal and district administrations.

The governor of Luanda said that the meeting led to the identification of many community actions underway in Cazenga, pointing to the English Language Professional Training Center (Profocel) as an example.

Manuel Homem praised the efforts of the project coordinator, Alberto Paulo, who without financial resources teaches English classes to more than 200 children at the Zé Du Mediateca.

“An initiative that should infect us all, due to the resilience and results demonstrated”, congratulated and recognized the governor.

The municipal administrator of Cazenga, Nádia Neto, presented the locality’s main concerns in the areas of Education, Health, basic sanitation, drinking water supply, access roads, public lighting, construction and rehabilitation of social infrastructures, program to combat poverty and the conditions of the Historical Landmark of the Heroes of the 4th of February.

On Thursday, at the beginning of the work on the “Governar Juntos” program, in the municipality of Cazenga, Manuel Homem received representatives of political parties with parliamentary seats, local businesspeople, traditional authorities and members of civil society in separate audiences.

After the hearings, the governor opened the connection between Hoji-ya-Henda Street and 5th Avenue, a distance of 1,266 meters, inspected the retention basins and visited the Administrative Fair.

The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Imperial Santana School Complex, in the Urban District of Kalawenda, within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

During the inspection visit to the projects and infrastructures, Manuel Homem assured the residents that the 7th Avenue project, in Kimakieza, would restart, and set a deadline of 30 days for the completion of the Malweca bridge, which connects Cazenga to Cacuaco.

The governor instructed the management of the National Basic Infrastructure Construction Company (ENCIB) to carry out earthworks on 6th Avenue to improve mobility, as part of the road improvement program in the province of Luanda.

The municipality of Cazenga is made up of the urban districts of Tala Hady, Cazenga, Kalawenda, Kimakieza, 11 de Novembro and Hoji-ya-Henda, and has an estimated population of 1,470,398 inhabitants.

The next meeting of the Government of the Province of Luanda, within the framework of the “Governing Together” program, will be held in May in the municipality of Icolo and Bengo.
