Africa-Press – Angola. The Government of the province of Lunda Sul launched, this Friday, in Saurimo, the “Culture and arts” prize, for national citizens and residents in this district, with the aim of encouraging creativity.
The award recognizes the actions of young people in the fields of social and economic life in the country, in particular in Lunda Sul, in the categories of Literature, Plastic Arts, Theatre, Dance, Music, Event Promotion, DJs, and Scientific Research .
According to the director of the provincial Social Communication office, Lara Kalupeteca, this is a local government initiative aimed at encouraging the creative ingenuity of young people residing in the province, as well as promoting their participation in the search for solutions to the problems that plague the province. region.
“The creation of the award is a sign that the Government of Lunda Sul recognizes the potential of young Angolans, as a resource and determining factor for the country’s sustainable development”, he added.
According to the person in charge, the prize also aims to promote and enhance the local culture, which is why competitors should only compete in just one category.
Applications
Candidates must submit their work to the municipal administrations (Cacolo, Dala, Muconda and Saurimo) by May 30th.
The winners will be announced on July 4th, the date of creation of the province of Lunda Sul, and will receive a prize of one million kwanzas in each category, a statue and a diploma.
