Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, stated Monday (29) in Ndalatando that the training of human capital to respond to the development challenges of the province is one of the priorities of his department for 2026.
Speaking at the traditional end-of-year greetings ceremony, the governor stressed that only with properly trained and qualified personnel can the province of Cuanza-Norte take significant steps in the most varied areas of the region’s social and economic life.
In this regard, João Diogo Gaspar said that for the next fiscal year, technical and vocational training units will be strengthened to promote self-employment among young people.
The official appealed for compliance with the procedures for contracting and managing public affairs by the administrations, applying public funds with transparency and responsibility.
The governor also spoke about foreign investment in the region, especially in the agricultural sector, and urged municipal administrations to avoid bureaucracy in granting land plots to entrepreneurs interested in investing in Cuanza-Norte.
In the health sector, the governor announced the rehabilitation and expansion of the provincial maternal and child hospital, as well as the construction of new health units.
Regarding education, João Diogo Gaspar promised the construction of more schools, as well as the expansion of the school feeding program in the province’s 17 municipalities, compared to the current 16.
The ceremony took place in the Alda Lara hall and was attended by provincial delegates and directors, municipal administrators, heads of defense and security agencies, magistrates, and religious and traditional leaders.
