Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 1,900 kilometers of secondary and tertiary roads could be leveled this year in Huambo province, according to the local director of the Technical Services and Infrastructure Office, Francisco Neto.
The official was speaking, this Monday, at the 1st Ordinary Session of the Provincial Government of Huambo, led by Governor Lotti Nolika, during which he presented the balance of the earthwork process of secondary and tertiary roads, using kits provided by the Ministries of Construction and Land and Agriculture and Forestry Planning.
Francisco Neto informed that the 1,900 kilometers of roads cover the 11 municipalities of this region of the Central Plateau, with a view to improving conditions for the movement of people and goods, above all, in potentially agricultural areas.
He said that the execution of these actions, which are due to end in December of the current year, will be carried out using two kits supplied by the Ministry of Construction and Land Planning and another by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as well as through the public contracting of companies linked to the sector.
At the moment, he informed, the program is intervening, since last year, in another 800 kilometers, with 76 percent already executed.
According to the person in charge, the works are guaranteeing the stability of the works.
Meanwhile, he defended greater reinforcement in terms of financial resources, in order to allow the carrying out of other actions such as art work and the placement of hydraulic passages, in order to guarantee greater consistency and durability of the works.
Education begins payment of management and leadership subsidies
In turn, the head of the Science, Technology and Innovation department of the Huambo Education Office, Graciano Sacalei Freitas, announced, for this month, the start of payment of management and leadership subsidies to all those who still do not receive due remuneration.
He said they are heads of secretariats, coordinators of primary education classes, coordinators of disciplines in schools and school complexes, technical-professional institutes and primary teachers.
Without specifying the total number of beneficiaries in Huambo province, he made it known that, in the first phase of the process, 686 holders of management and leadership positions will be covered.
Graciano Sacalei Freitas also said that the province of Huambo registered, in the two years, the admission of 729 new teachers at different levels and the career promotion of another 15 thousand and 567. The first ordinary session also analyzed the
situation of health in the province of Huambo and the pilot village project to be implemented in all municipalities in this part of the national territory, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP).
