Africa-Press – Angola. The coordinator of the Municipal Human Rights Committee in Cambambe, Acácio Mateus, considered that the Angolan Government presents good indicators in respecting and promoting universal guidelines on the matter.

For the jurist, the expansion of the school, health, water and electricity distribution network, as well as the promotion of housing policies are indicators of the national interest in respecting and promoting the guidelines contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) .

The interlocutor made these statements on the occasion of the celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations on December 10, 1948.

According to Acácio Mateus, provincial governments, in coordination with municipal administrations, seek to bring essential services closer to the populations.

He noted that although basic essential services are not yet comprehensive across the entire territory, there are good prospects.

He indicated that there are tasks that, by their nature, can be developed by the communities themselves, such as the promotion of basic sanitation, entrepreneurship, preservation of the environment and respect for the rights of others.

In his opinion, communities must seek initiatives that generate development, above all, the preservation of the postal services available to them.

He called for solidarity among citizens and the preservation of life, which must come first, to the detriment of material goods.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a non-legal base document that outlines the universal protection of human rights.

The General Assembly proclaims the present UDHR as the common ideal to be achieved by all peoples and all nations, with the aim that every individual and every organ of society, always bearing this document in mind, strives, through teaching and of education, for promoting respect for these rights and freedoms and for the adoption of progressive measures of a national and international nature, for ensuring their recognition and universal and effective observance by all.
