Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, authorized, this Friday, the privatization of TV Zimbo and Gráfica Damer SA, through a public tender by prior qualification, within the framework of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV) 2023/2026.

According to presidential orders published in the Diário da República, the Angolan State puts up for sale 70% of the shares it holds in Damer Gráfica – Sociedade Industrial de Artes Gráficas, and 100% of its share capital in the Angolan television station TV Zimbo.

To this end, the President delegates powers to the Minister of Finance, with the power to sub-delegate, to verify the validity and legality of all subsequent acts.

In another order, the President of the Republic authorizes the expenditure and formalizes the opening of the public tender for the public works contract to complete the study, construction, equipment and inspection of the Sovereign Memorial and the Ngola Royal Palace, in the province of Malanje.

Started in mid-2019 and extended until 2026, PROPRIV essentially aims to strengthen the private sector, making it more efficient and competitive.

It appears to be one of the guiding lines for the restructuring and resizing of the Public Business Sector (SEP).

This is a program framed by the reform of public finances, with a view to promoting macroeconomic stability, increasing the productivity of the national economy and achieving a more equitable distribution of national income.
