Government reiterates its commitment to improving conditions for MININT staff

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, reiterated Tuesday, that the government has been engaged in implementing measures that aim to provide better working conditions for employees of the Ministry of the Interior, in order to successfully comply with the their tasks and missions.

When speaking at the general graduation ceremony at the end of the prevention and assurance of the Festive Court, held at the Rapid Intervention Police Unit (PIR), the governor detailed the construction of Police Stations in the municipalities of Menongue, Cuangar and Cuchi, already handed over to the corporation, all within the scope of the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM).

José Martins said that a Police Station in Menongue, in the town of Tucuve, and the municipal command of the National Police in Cuangar have yet to be opened, in addition to other resources that have been delivered, aiming to reinforce the Police Units and other services assigned to the Interior Ministery.

He assured that the government will continue to carry out actions aimed at enhancing the Defense and Security Forces, as well as engaging in the creation of working conditions, institutional and operational habitability, in order to correspond with current and future demands.

The governor acknowledged that the conditions for cohabitation of staff in units or posts are difficult, which has forced the government to help improve working conditions, so that they can carry out their tasks with comfort, quality and responsibility.

On the occasion, he expressed appreciation and words of recognition to all personnel for successfully carrying out the mission that guaranteed public order and tranquility to citizens and their property.

Regarding securing the Festive Quadra, José Martins admitted that the operation met its objectives, as staff from different bodies of the Ministry of the Interior carried out the mission of defending territorial integrity with zeal, selflessness and patriotism.

He encouraged them to remain firm and active in the noble and thorny mission, so that they can ensure the different objectives outlined by the Angolan Executive, in the sense that the authority of the State is an irreversible fact and the country experiences, in general, stable socioeconomic development.

In his intervention, the PN commander and MININT delegate in Cuando Cubango, commissioner José Alberto Tchynhama “Russo”, praised the spirit of mission, bravery, loyalty and determination undertaken by the troops, as well as the collaboration of traditional authorities, churches and the population in general, which contributed to the success of the operation.

The operation culminated in the recovery of four hundred meters of electrical cable, allocated to the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE), the recovery and seizure of more than two thousand and 200 various goods, with emphasis on a shotgun-type firearm, 11 motor vehicles, 25 motorbikes and 24 logs of Girassonde wood.

As for crime, 44 were recorded, plus two, of which 33 required direct intervention by police forces, resulting in the arrest of 26 citizens, whilst, in terms of accidents, 11 accidents were recorded, three fewer compared to the last festive season, which resulted in two deaths, two more, and 25 injured, five more.
