Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, appealed to the populations for tolerance, during the visit to the village of Sanza Pombo, carried out, this Tuesday (22), in solidarity with the victims of aggressions carried out by UNITA militants, in the last Saturday.
“The objective is to convey to the citizens, especially the injured and other victims of the aggressions, the solidarity of the authorities, having assured that they are committed to doing everything so that dangerous and shameful situations such as those we have witnessed, here in Sanza Pombo, do not happen again. “, underlined the governor.
He referred that, with the approach of the general elections, some political formations in the opposition decided to promote violent acts, such as the vandalization of political party institutions, subversion of public order and tranquility.
“We are aware that the times of the past must not be repeated. We want peace, so that each of us can work and, in this way, address their problems and, together, solve the people’s problems”, stressed the governor, adding that “we will strive for restraint, remain calm and, above all, not respond to provocations”.
Governor Carvalho da Rolha made a point of underlining, by the way, that the political forces with greater responsibility, interested in promoting the common good and consolidating family well-being, do not practice acts of vandalism or disrespect the norms and laws in force in the country.
