Africa-Press – Angola. The Zambian business class has open doors to invest in Angola, and, in particular, in the province of Moxico, in the agribusiness, mining industry, agriculture and other potential sectors, he declared, this Wednesday, in Solwezi, Governor Ernesto Muangala.
Muangala said that the potential of the Noroeste province, such as the advanced copper mining industry and other productive infrastructure, which makes Zambia the second largest producer in Africa, interests Moxico, since geological studies carried out indicate the existence of this ore in the Moxico.
“We intend to make the most of the experience”, reaffirmed the governor of Moxico during the official opening of the II Regional Cooperation and Cultural Exchange Meeting between the provincial administrations of Northwest Zambia and Moxico-Angola.
Ernesto Muangala also highlighted the need for greater investment in agricultural production, with a high level of farm production, as it is one of the firm steps towards solving the problem of food and nutritional security, and youth employability.
According to the government official, the materialization of these investments, based on the agreements already signed, will bring about the development of human capital, improvement of communication routes, such as roads and railways, strengthening of electricity networks, in addition to agricultural and cultural production.
In this sense, he reaffirmed that acts of proximity between the two peoples, of good neighborliness, should continue, promoting the free movement of people and goods, in entry and exit, in the search for better services.
In turn, the minister of the Northwest province, Robert Lihefu, believes in fruitful cooperation for the good of the populations, in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, health and education.
He stated that these are challenges with tangible and practicable solutions, as long as the two governments continue with the dynamics of creating political conditions so that the business class can have a more practical, efficient and effective intervention.
This initiative by the Moxico government, in establishing cooperation agreements with the neighboring provinces of Zambia, aims to fulfill the desire of the presidents of Angola, João Lourenço, and Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, at the beginning of 2023, to explore the strategic potential of the River Corridor.
