Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Huíla yesterday defended greater commitment to actions aimed at providing balance in access to basic social services among the population residing in the center of the city, in the peripheral neighborhoods and communes of Lubango.
Nuno Mahapi Dala, who was speaking at the presentation ceremony of the new municipal administrator of Lubango, Lisender André, replacing Armando Vieira, said that the social sector should be the “great priority”, with a view to improving the quality of life of the populations.
He indicated that there are health centers and posts in almost all the 17 districts of the city of Lubango, whose operation still needs attention from the authorities.
He exemplified that there are general education schools that depend on the municipality which, in the governor’s view, should also deserve special attention during the new consulate of the municipal administration, so that their functioning is the most adequate.
For the materialization of the objectives outlined to be a fact, he stressed, it is necessary to strive for dialogue and permanent consultation with society. According to the official, Lubango is currently one of the cleanest cities in Angola and the gains must be preserved and improved.
“I understand that we have 14 municipalities in the province, but I also understand that 50% of the population of Huíla lives in the municipality of Lubango. of life of the populations of the city of Lubango and the visitors find harmonious conditions”, he reinforced.
The governor of Huíla acknowledged that most of the population of the city of Lubango lives in the neighborhoods and communes. Therefore, he indicated, the new municipal administrator has the challenge of maintaining what he found and creating actions that contribute to the solution of the main problems of the communities in the neighborhoods.
“We understand that Lubango is not just the city, but also the peripheral neighborhoods and its three communes”, he said, stating that the neighborhoods still lack almost all services, from security (one of the biggest complaints of the populations) , basic services such as energy, water and access roads.
He justified that, in the path of solving the population’s problems, there are aspects that cannot wait: “It is based on the resolution of problems that one should not rest”.
“The good service for us is to permanently solve the population’s problems, depending on the available conditions”, reiterated Nuno Mahapi Dala.
The financial resources that are made available for treatment and basic sanitation, he acknowledged, are still far from reality. Therefore, she promised that the discussions will continue with the related authorities in the interest of all.
“We understand that the efforts that have been made are enormous and we will, together, continue to discuss so that this is carried out successfully”, he stressed.
Nuno Mahapi Dala assured that, with the intelligence and humility of the new municipal administrator, he will be able to take safe steps to achieve success.
The official believes that the new municipal administrator of Lubango finds a strong, cohesive, harmonious, healthy team willing to work: “But we must fine-tune the machine, because the work has already started to satisfy the needs of the populations”.
Territorial Planning
Planning the territory of the city of Lubango should also be a priority, said the governor of Huíla.
According to the official, the inspection team of the Municipal Administration of Lubango must be shaped with principles and respect for the population.
“We are very concerned about the inspection team of the Municipal Administration of Lubango. In addition to the concerns that are presented by the population, we have witnessed, in the city of Lubango, behaviors that are worrying”, he said.
“I ask you to drive the car without looking in the rearview mirror, because if you do, you will waste time and could have an accident”, he joked.
He explained that Lisender André, who came from the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, aimed to seek the profile of a framework capable of putting an end to the development that is intended to be achieved in the current five-year period.
The new municipal administrator of Lubango, Lisender André, has shown himself willing to work so that the priorities outlined are a fact.
“We know that it is not an easy challenge. Therefore, it counts on the support of everyone as a municipal administration for the work it has started”, comforted the governor when addressing Lisender André.
The outgoing municipal administrator, Armando Vieira, who has directed the destinies of Lubango for the last four years, asked employees to provide the same support, solidarity and affection to the new manager, “who has everything to work out”.
The Municipal Administration of Lubango has 357 permanent workers, including temporary staff, distributed among municipal directorates, communal and neighborhood administrations.
