Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza Sul, Job Capapinha, said Friday, in the city of Sumbe, that the Executive will continue with ongoing projects, in order to guarantee the well-being of the population, as well as social and economic development from the province.
Speaking at the year-end greetings ceremony, Job Capapinha referred that, in this sense, the Government will continue, in 2023, the projects included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and in the Program to Combat Poverty, among others.
“We are going to work to guarantee a better quality of life for our populations and improve the image of cities and towns. Therefore, there must be better communication between members of the Government and municipal administrations, because only then can we successfully achieve the objectives set for the five-year period 2023/2027”, he stressed.
On the occasion, the provincial secretary of the Government, Hilário Mucase, recalled that the Government will invest around 2.85 billion kwanzas, over the next five years, in the implementation of 933 social and economic projects in the province.
He underlined that, this year, the Government implemented several actions in favor of improving the quality of life of the populations, with emphasis on the construction and equipping of five health units in the municipalities of Quibala, Amboim, Libolo and Quilenda, as well as the acquisition of six ambulances to facilitate the transfer of patients.
In the education sector, 16 schools were inaugurated, allowing for the expansion of 134 classrooms and the placement of 630 teachers.
“During the year, around 240,000 peasant families were assisted with agricultural inputs and various goods and subsidies from traditional authorities were paid, in the amount of 752 million kwanzas. Among the actions implemented, the rehabilitation of the nursing home in Porto-Amboim also stands out, allowing our elders to live in greater comfort”, he added.
The act was attended by members of the National Assembly, members of the Government, municipal administrators, traditional and religious authorities, representatives of defense and security bodies, among other guests.
