Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, confirmed, this Saturday, the progress of construction work on the 89 kilometers of road that connects the municipalities of Sanza-Pombo and Buengas.
At the end of the visit, the government official expressed his satisfaction with the way in which the works were progressing in that section, where deforestation, earthworks, filling of some ravines and construction of some bridges had already been carried out.
He said he hoped that the works, commissioned in March this year, would be delivered within the established deadline, despite recognizing that the constant rains that hit the two locations affect the speed of the work, for this reason, he appealed to the population to remain calm and patient. and understanding.
In turn, the municipal administrator of Buengas, José Bunga Alberto, said that the earthmoving and deforestation work, which is being carried out along the road, has considerably reduced the travel time from Sanza-Pombo to Buengas and vice versa .
José Bunga Alberto informed that journeys on the section in question last two to three and a half hours, adding that the completion of the asphalting works on the Sanza-Pombo/Buengas section will promote the development of the two locations, reducing travel costs , commercial exchange and increased agricultural production.
