Africa-Press – Angola. The National Gymnastics Team returned to the country this Monday, from Kigali (Rwanda), with 23 medals won at the African Championships, held from the 24th to the 27th of this month.
Speaking to the press, at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in Luanda, the assistant coach of the national combined, Alice Tomás, stated that of the 23 medals, one is gold, two silver and 20 bronze.
Regarding the team’s participation in the event, the coach considered it positive due to the results achieved in just two weeks of preparation.
Alice Tomás also guaranteed that the next priority will be the African and Zonal Championships, where the objective is the podium.
Gymnast Luana Gomes won the gold medal and guaranteed her presence at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Angolan, who lives and works in Portugal, performed well in the various stages of the individual final, which even earned her applause from the panel of judges.
