Africa-Press – Angola. The organization of the ‘SuperHalfs’ international circuit, a competition that debuts this year, announced this Tuesday (29) that Lisbon will host, on May 8, the second race of a series of five European half marathons, which starts on Saturday in Prague.
The circuit was launched in 2019, but due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, it could only advance three years later.
“We understand that the delay to the start of the series, while we waited for the situation to improve in all five host cities, has been frustrating for many. We now look forward to a bright future together, with many kilometers covered,” said Saso Belovski, Managing Director. , in a note on the organization’s website.
The competition takes place in Prague (Saturday), Lisbon (May 8th), Copenhagen (September 18th), Cardiff (October 2nd) and Valencia (October 23rd), places with the races considered to be the fastest in distance.
Carlos Moia, president of the Marathon Clube de Portugal (MCP), expressed his satisfaction with the event being held in 2022, noting that the competition also aims, in addition to the race itself, to promote aspects such as tourism and environmental sustainability.
