Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to the United States of America, Joaquim do Espírito Santos, received, in Washington DC, the declaration of proclamation of Angola Day in Hampton.
The handover took place during a courtesy visit by the Mayor of the City of Hampton to the Embassy of Angola. With the proclamation, the note advances, “from now on, every year, on August 27th, Angola Day will be celebrated in Hampton”.
On the occasion, Ambassador Joaquim do Espírito Santo thanked and underlined the friendship and cooperation ties that unite the two countries.
According to a note from the Angolan Embassy in the USA , the declaration of proclamation of Angola Day was delivered by the mayor of the city of Hampton, Donnie Tuck.
Angola and the United States signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2010, within the scope of cooperation in various fields, at a time when the country is the third largest US trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, with oil exports.
