Africa-Press – Angola. Winning the Angola Cup in senior women’s handball by 1o de Agosto is the result of eight months of work, according to coach José Chuma.
Speaking to the press at the end of the match in which they beat Petro de Luanda, 23-20, the coach of the “military” said that in eight months, they had to promote some players with little competitive experience and work more with the veterans in order to win national and international competitions, which only happened today in the Angola Cup, against an opponent who was in possession of the title.
“I must thank my management who created all the conditions for us to develop our work and this victory makes us satisfied with what was done to recover the team as a whole,” he said.
In turn, Luis Chaves of Pero de Luanda admitted that technical errors led to the defeat in the game that he considers to have been very hard-fought between the two best teams in the country.
“We wanted to finish the season on a high note, but today was one of those days when some things didn’t go as planned,” he stressed.
