Africa-Press – Angola. The eighteen players who will represent the senior women’s national handball team at the World Championship in Germany and the Netherlands from November 26th to December 14th have been announced.
Coach Carlos Viver made public this Monday afternoon the final list of players who will compete in the initial phase in Group H against Norway, South Korea, and Kazakhstan.
Of the group, eight play for 1o de Agosto, five for Petro de Luanda, and the remaining five in Europe.Among those called up, highlights include left-back Rossana Sebastião and goalkeeper Cristina Miguel, both from 1o de Agosto, who will be competing in a World Championship for the first time.
This World Championship will also mark the farewell of Natália Bernardo dos Santos and Azenaide Carlos, two of the longest-serving players in the Angolan sevens team.
The Nacional sevens team is aiming for its eighteenth participation, after its debut in 1990 in Korea.Angola’s best performance in the competition was in 2007 in France, with a seventh-place finish, the best result ever by an African team.
