Africa-Press – Angola. The national senior women’s handball team defeated the similar team from Austria Friday, by 30-25, the first in the World Championship of the sport, taking place in Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
At half-time, the African champions were winning by a difference of two goals (16/14).
Angolan Azenaide Carlos was elected MVP of this fifth game.
With this result, Angola joins the group of teams fighting from 9th to 17th place.
In the group stage, remember, the National Team lost, 29-30, against France, (24-30), against Slovenia and drew (26-26) with Iceland.
“In the Main Round”, the name of the second phase, the Angolan women lost to Norway by a significant margin (19 -37).
The next game takes place on Sunday against South Korea.
