Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Luigi Di Maio, is making an official visit to Luanda for a few hours this Wednesday, at the invitation of the Angolan authorities, as part of the reinforcement of cooperation between the two countries.
The Italian diplomat arrives in the country’s capital this afternoon and will be received at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by a reception committee headed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça.
According to a press release from MIREX sent, the head of Italian diplomacy will travel, later this afternoon, to the Presidential Palace of Cidade Alta, where he should be received by the President of the Republic, John Lawrence.
According to the programme, Luigi Di Maio and the delegation accompanying him will go to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Luanda, to witness the signing of the Declaration of Intent for Cooperation in the energy field, between the Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum. and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, and the Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani.
The Italian Government considers Angola a priority country for its cooperation strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa since 1989, being its third partner after South Africa and Nigeria.
