Head of State invited to participate in the B20 Summit

Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, was invited, Friday (4), to participate in the B20 (Business 20) Summit, to be held in Bali, Indonesia, from the 13th to the 14th of this month.

The invitation was expressed last night, in Luanda, during a meeting that Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, granted to Lucian-Florin Despoiu, who arrived in the country’s capital, as special envoy of Joko Widodo, President of the Republic from Indonesia.

Business 20 (B2O) is the G20’s official forum for dialogue with the global business community. Established in 2010, B2O is among the most prominent G20 Engagement Groups and is tasked with formulating policy recommendations on specific issues, later handed over to the G20 Presidency.

The B20 is organized by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) at the request of the Indonesian government, which holds the current presidency of the G20. B2O Indonesia 2022 aims to bring together global companies and thought leaders to address pressing economic issues from a business perspective.

This year’s B20 Summit is expected to reach consensus on priority causes, to move forward on a united front, where global business voices are called upon to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth for the future.

Seven Action Areas have been established to address the world’s most pressing issues, in hopes of safeguarding the global recovery and ensuring that the resulting growth is inclusive and sustainable.

Around 2,000 delegates are expected to attend the B2O 2022 Indonesia Summit in person, including Heads of State and CEOs of leading multinational corporations from over 40 countries, representing over 6.5 million companies from around the world.
