Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço also granted a joint audience yesterday afternoon to eight religious leaders in the country.
The audience, at the Palácio da Cidade Alta, served to express their feelings of gratitude for the recognition of seven new churches in the country during their term of office, as well as to request support for the various actions they carry out throughout the country, with emphasis on the granting of the status of public utility institution to some suitable religious denominations, as well as the recognition of some theological training schools in the country, given the difficulties that people trained in this area encounter in having their diplomas officially recognized.
“We have many theologians whose documents are not certified by the National Institute for Assessment, Accreditation and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES),” said Reverend Antunes Huambo, who spoke to the press on behalf of the group.
Present at the hearing were Reverends Alexandre Saul, Secretary General of the Evangelical Alliance of Angola (AEA), Vladimir Agostinho, Secretary General of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes, spiritual leader of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World – The Tocoists, Bishop Alberto Segunda, of the Church of the Kingdom of God in Angola (IRDA), Kissoloquele Kiangane Paul, spiritual leader of the Kimbanguist Church in Angola, Apostle Victor David Segunda, of the United Etema Sanctified Church of Angola (IESUA) and Pastor Teixeira Mateus Vinte, of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
