Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, will speak shortly at the 8th Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security whose motto chosen for this edition is “Africa in the face of exogenous shocks: challenges to stability and sovereignty”.
he intervention of the Angolan statesman, who participates in the event as a guest of honor, is scheduled to take place after the opening speech of the forum, to be given by Senegalese President Macky Sall, who is also the acting president of the African Union.
The speech by the Head of State, which will last for five minutes, is being eagerly awaited by the diplomatic circle present at the Forum.
Next, President João Lourenço, who currently holds the title of “Champion of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa” , awarded by the African Union, will participate in the High Level Panel, one of the highest points of the forum, where you will be confronted with some questions related to the various challenges of the African continent.
According to the program, the Head of State will also be heard as acting president of the International Conference for the Great Lakes Region.
At this moment, the room where the 8th edition of the Dakar Forum on Peace and Security will take place is gradually being assembled with the arrival of the various individuals invited to the forum.
The Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security is an annual event, initiated by Senegalese President Macky Sall, with the participation of African leaders and international actors involved in Africa’s development.
Given the pandemic moment that the world is experiencing, seriously affecting the African continent, the last edition of the event brought to the table the theme “The challenges of stability and emergency in Africa in a post-Covid-19 world”.
