Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teté António, received, on Friday, in Luanda, the Heads of the Mission of Electoral Observers of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and of the African Union, within the framework of the General Elections of 24 August.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent the head of Angolan diplomacy received the former President of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, as Head of the CPLP Electoral Observer Mission.

The meeting between the two personalities also served for “the exchange of views on the electoral process in Angola, without escaping the bilateral exchange that unites each of these countries that make up the CPLP”.

On another occasion, Minister Téte António also received the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn, as Head of the African Union Election Observer Mission.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the purpose of these electoral missions is to objectively, independently and professionally assess the integrity, credibility, regularity and transparency of presidential elections.
