Africa-Press – Angola. The Health sector, in Moxico, is investing in the training of doctors of various specialties to be distributed in all the municipalities of the province, guaranteed, yesterday, the governor Ernesto Muangala.
At the moment, announced the governor, there is a group of doctors in training outside the province, who will return to Moxico within two years.
He underlined that, in addition to the professionals who are undergoing training at the local initiative, the province will also benefit from technicians from public tenders by the Ministry of Health, held annually for the entry of new professionals.
The governor reacted to a series of concerns raised by the management of the Municipal Hospital of Moxico, where the operating room has not been operating since its opening in 2014, due to a lack of specialists.
Ernesto Muangala stressed that, in order to resolve the issue of lack of financial resources in some reference health units, the Ministry of Finance is currently approving the statutes and staffing.
With that, said the governor, municipal hospitals are now included in the General State Budget (OGE) and no longer depend on local administrations.
Despite the problems, Ernesto Muangala praised the commitment of professionals in the sector and considered that the municipality of Moxico has an efficient health network.
During the governor’s visit, the director of the Municipal Hospital of Moxico, Jorgina Munonga, said that the lack of specialists also affects the operation of the Imaging area, oxygen factory, traumatology room, orthopedics, intensive and intermediate care and care of women with gynecological complications.
Jorgina Munonga added that the damage to the six drawers of the 24 existing in the hospital morgue is another concern, as it is making it difficult to preserve the bodies.
