Africa-Press – Angola. Angola may soon host the International Conference on Appropriate Technologies with several African countries, it was announced in Pretoria, South Africa, in a statement from the Angolan Embassy in that neighboring country.

According to information released today by the diplomatic mission, the idea came from a meeting held on 27 March in the city of Pretoria, which brought together higher education institutions from the Catholic Church of Angola and South Africa.

The project aims to share information in the field of scientific research, curriculum development, knowledge transfer and funding opportunities.

The implementation, adds the Embassy document, would also give greater visibility to national institutions at an international level and improve quality and prestige.

Participants also highlighted the importance of working on joint research related to the Transport sector, highlighting rail transport, which in South Africa has made significant progress.

The meeting was organized by the Angolan researcher, residing in South Africa, engineer Emanuel Zeferino, professor at the Tshwane University of Technology, and also attended by the rector of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Católico de Benguela (ISPOCAB), Father José Adriano Ukwatchali, the researcher Januário Hossi, professors Khumbulani Moofu, from the University of Tshwane, and John Alfred Trimble, from the United States of America.
