Africa-Press – Angola. Militants and delegates from the MPLA, FRELIMO, ANC and SWAPO share, from Sunday until next Saturday (26), in Johannesburg (South Africa), experiences from their political-ideological training programs, calling for the need to reinforce the permanent training of cadres .

Domingo, the delegations defended the continuous training of militants in Political Ideology, to face the challenges posed, above all, to the liberation movements of their countries. The parties’ position was expressed in the morning session of the second day of the training for trainers.
From the FRELIMO (Mozambique) lecture, emphasis is placed on the training aimed at party militants who are members of the Government, with a biannual periodization, focusing on various themes, highlighting the issues of its statutes, while the ANC delegate focused the intervention on the need the reinforcement of the training of cadres that denote a posture of detachment from the party.

For the South African ruling party, this factor was reflected in the last municipal elections in which the ANC lost in several constituencies, as a result of the poor work of political mobilization, especially among young people who, in the majority, opted for abstention.

This behavior, added one of the lecturers, punished the ANC with the loss of even municipalities considered historic in terms of the achievements of Nelson Mandela’s supporters. In the ANC’s view, the bad result in the last municipal elections was also a consequence of the still unresolved problems in the youth organization, shaken by the crisis resulting from the expulsion of its then leader.

SWAPO (Namibia) highlighted that teaching in those areas is aimed at changing mentalities, so that beneficiaries think like leaders and not followers.

Also in the Sunday morning session, the training participants discussed the need to strengthen values, such as Ethics and Leadership, a task presented by a member of each delegation, considered by those present to be of high value and that will greatly help to improve party performance.

The delegations presented their parties’ views on values, principles and political ethics, as well as the way they deal with eventual cases of corruption and party indiscipline. The MPLA underlined the role played by the Discipline, Ethics and Audit Commission in solving members’ problems.

It was also highlighted the fact that the MPLA remains faithful to its principles and values, as a party whose strength lies in its historical connection with the people, as well as its implantation throughout the national territory.
