Huambo: MPLA highlights commitment of militants

Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, highlighted the selfless surrender of the militants that culminated in the victory in the General Elections of 24 August.

The party, who was speaking on Friday at the balance sheet meeting of this year’s electoral process, acknowledged that the militants worked, during the pre and electoral campaign, “without sparing efforts to demonstrate that the province of Huambo is an electoral square dominated by the MPLA ”.

“It has been effectively demonstrated that the MPLA dominates and resides in the hearts of the people in Huambo province, as the polls prove”, he emphasized.

According to the policy, the MPLA’s fifth victory, in particular, in the province of Huambo, demonstrates, above all, the manifestation of the people’s will to continue “hand in hand with the party, for a better future for the country”.

Therefore, Lotti Nolika called for the strengthening of activities, anticipating the general elections of 2027. He said that the results obtained in the general elections of the 24th of August must be carefully reflected, in order to know the reasons that led some citizens not to vote for the MPLA and others opted for a blank vote.

According to the final results of the August 24 elections, released by the National Electoral Commission, the MPLA obtained 308,731 votes in the provincial constituency of Huambo, electing three deputies, out of a total of 561,326 voters, out of one million, 103 thousand 685 predicted.
