Africa-Press – Angola. Ninety-six kilometers of National Roads 110 and 280, in the Quipungo/Cuvelai, Matala/Freixiel sections, in the province of Huíla, will begin to be rehabilitated in the first quarter of 2024.
The information was given in Lubango, Monday, by the head of the Provincial Road Services of Huíla, José Augusto Vieira, without advancing the value of the contracts, highlighting that the province has a portfolio of four works planned for 2024 .
He highlighted that in the specific case of the rehabilitation of the EN-110 and 280, he highlighted the construction of nine bridges, in a project that is expected to be completed in two years.
He also stated that the rehabilitation of the EN 110 in the Caconda/Chicomba and Cuvelai/Cacula section with a length of 101 km is in the works, the EN-120 in the Cuvango/Cuvelai section, with 153 km and the Chipindo/Cuvango section with 109 km.
José Augusto Vieira said that at the moment in the province of Huíla, in addition to the works on the Lubango ring road, the 65 km of the Cuima/Cusse road is underway, 45 km from Huambo and 20 from Huíla, on the EN 354.
As well as the rehabilitation, maintenance and conservation works on the road from the João de Almeida roundabout to Matata, the Matala/Dongo and Dongo/Cuvango roads, totaling ten kilometers of rehabilitation and 165 kilometers of maintenance.
The province of Huíla, with a territorial size of 79 thousand 023 square kilometers, has an estimated population of three million 185 thousand 165 inhabitants. the provinces of Namibe and Cuando Cubango.
