Africa-Press – Angola. The new delegate of the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE) in Zaire province, Benigno Jesus da Costa, this Thursday in Mbanza Kongo asked the population to collaborate with his institution, denouncing possible irregularities by state administrative bodies.
Speaking to the press, after his presentation to members of the Provincial Government, Benigno da Costa said that as an inspection body, the IGAE will focus on combating corruption and impunity at the level of the structures of the State apparatus in the region.
According to the official, monitoring the different sectors of the Government, with emphasis on those who still have greater difficulties in their daily activities, will also deserve the attention of the IGAE in the province.
“We are going to carry out a preliminary study on the province, and, later, follow up and try to mitigate as much as possible the irregularities and insufficiencies that may exist at the local level”, he underlined.
Benigno Jesus da Costa replaces António Jaime, who ran IGAE in Zaire for about two years.
The new delegate was presented by the Deputy Inspector General of IGAE, Ezequiel Gomes, in a ceremony led by the Deputy Governor for the political, social and economic sector, Afonso Nzolameso, who expressed the institutional support of the Provincial Government.
Approved by Presidential Decree no 242/20, of September 28, the IGAE is the auxiliary body of the President of the Republic, with the mission of carrying out the internal control of the Public Administration, through inspection, supervision, auditing, supervision, inquiry and investigations of the activity of all bodies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the State.
