Africa-Press – Angola. One thousand and 46 unexploded explosive devices were destroyed this Friday, in Uíge province, by the National Demining Institute (INAD).
The artifacts of war were collected in the 16 municipalities of the province of Uíge, since the year 2022, in a total of 1,456 explosive devices and 159 different types of ammunition.
Speaking to the press, the representative of the National Mine Action Agency, Daniel Paulo, explained that the other explosive devices will be destroyed in the coming days.
He said that in 2022, 1,403 citizens were made aware of the risks of mines in the municipalities of Negage, Uíge, Quitexe, Songo and Maquela do Zombo.
According to the source, the four brigades based in Uíge province confirmed, in 2022, the existence of four new minefields, located in the municipalities of Maquela do Zombo, Milunga and Cangola.
