Africa-Press – Angola. Eight thousand 628 jobs were created, from 2021 to 2023, by the National Institute of Professional Training (INEFOP) in Cuanza Norte.

According to the director of INEFOP in the province, António Gaspar Quintas, the jobs created in the last three years were accompanied by the distribution of 2,119 professional kits, as part of the Government’s support actions to youth, in order to combat poverty, generate family income and promote self-employment.

INEFOP’s action, he added, also included the granting of microcredits for business initiatives to 258 young people, while 289 participated in professional internships and 945 had access to employment in various institutions, through the mediation of employment centers.

In the chapter on professional training, António Gaspar Quintas said that in the last three years, more than six thousand young people have been trained in the 13 training centers in Cuanza Norte, 3,266 in professional courses and 3,383 in arts and crafts.

The official said that this year (2023), the institute enrolled 2,711 trainees, including 750 women and 1,961 men in short, medium and long-term courses, where 2,136 completed the training successfully, while 456 dropped out.

In the first quarter of 2023, 1,218 young people, out of 2,711 registered at employment centers in Cuanza Norte, got jobs. In 2022, the institution enrolled 2,150 trainees, of which 1,713 completed their training successfully.

The secondary sector, with an offer of 776 places, was the one that absorbed the largest number of young people, followed by the secondary sector with 397 and the primary sector with 45 places.

In the centers, provided by 56 trainers, the trades of hairdressing, carpentry, plumbing, cutting and sewing, cooking, pastry, decoration, electricity, electronics, table and bar, IT, air conditioning, locksmithing and masonry were taught.

Cambambe

In the municipality of Cambambe, the lack of funding for the normal functioning of the Integrated Employment and Professional Training Center is affecting the opening of new courses in the institution’s pedagogical plan.

The center’s director, João José, told that it is the management’s intention to promote courses in agriculture, livestock, poultry farming and fishing, but the lack of financial resources to support current expenses limits the center to traditional courses.

Since its inauguration in 2008, the INEFOP center in Dondo has trained six thousand 252 candidates, many of them sent for employment in different companies.

As part of the Employability Promotion Program (PAPE), since 2022, more than two thousand jobs have been created in various areas.
