Africa-Press – Angola. The National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) recorded a variation of 1.38 percent from February to March 2025. According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), comparing monthly variations (February to March 2025) there was a deceleration of 0.21 percentage points, while in year-on-year terms (March 2024 to March 2025), there was a deceleration in the current variation of 1.16 percentage points.
The provinces that recorded the smallest variation in prices were Luanda with 1.18 percent; Malanje (1.23), and Lunda-Sul (1.41).The provinces that recorded the greatest price variation were Bié with 2.09 percent, Moxico (1.88) and Cabinda (1.88). The “Transport” class recorded the greatest price increase, with a variation of 1.83 percent. Also noteworthy were the price increases recorded in the following classes: “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 1.77 percent, “Hotels, cafés and restaurants” (1.75) and “Clothing and footwear” (1.62). The year-on-year variation stood at 23.85 percent, registering a decrease of 1.41 percentage points.
Comparing the current year-on-year variation with that recorded in the previous month, there was a slowdown of 2.24 percentage points.
