Africa-Press – Angola. Still without the integration of Islando Manuel, just with Gildo Santos, Interclube started the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship with victory, against the new Jlonda team, 97-56, in the opening game played (Wednesday ), in the 28 de Fevereiro pavilion.
After leaving 1o de Agosto, due to breach of contract, the Island winger “Papa Ngulo”, in this competition, which resumes two years later, was in the Firefighters’ enclosure, but was not used, at the option of coach Apolinário Paquete.
Regarding base player Gildo, who also left the “military” club for the “police” club, for the same reasons, he played for around 15 minutes, scoring just four points. In the match, Wilson Ambrósio, from Interclube, was the top scorer.
In the other match, Petro de Luanda B beat CFDK, 94-40. The game between Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA) and Vila Clotilde was postponed, as well as that between 1o de Agosto and Interclube B.
The competition is being played in a free-for-all system, with the final taking place on November 10th.
The second round has the poster game; Interclube – Petro de Luanda, at 6pm, preceded (4pm) by ASA – Interclube B, the same time, when Vila Clotilde hosts CFDK. At 6 pm, there will be 1o de Agosto – Jlonda in the Victorino Cunha pavilion.
