Africa-Press – Angola. The circulation of trains on the Huambo-Cuito section, kilometer 464, on the perimeter of the Chinguar station, in Bié province, is prohibited following the derailment of three goods vehicles (wagons), without causing human damage.
According to a statement from the CFB sent to the press, the freight train left Huambo on Sunday at around 3 am, bound for Luena, Moxico province.
“Technical teams were mobilized to the site, so, while the rerailing works and replacement of the geometric parameters of the railway continue, the circulation of trains will be prohibited for a period of 72 hours from next Monday, the 10th. October 2022, on the Huambo-Kuito section”, reads the statement.
The CFB informs that, due to the derailment, the trains on the Lobito-Luau, Huambo-Luena (Monday) and Luena-Luau (Tuesday) sections will be cancelled.
In this sense, the CFB added another train on the Cuito-Luena section, on Tuesday, departing at 5 am, from Cuito station.
