The outgoing Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Pedro Pessoa e Costa, said, Monday (21), in Luanda, that most of the problems related to the scheduling of visas have nothing to do with the way in which the Consulate makes vacancies available, but their use by some intermediaries, which limit access to those who really need to obtain visas.

The diplomat gave the information to the press, at the end of the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, for the presentation of farewell greetings. Pedro Pessoa e Costa assured that anyone who applies for a visa, following the process, will not face any reason for major delays.

“Since recent times and as a result of the great work and effort of the Consulate’s employees, these visas have been issued, namely those that well reflect the extraordinary relationship between Angola and Portugal, in this case, health, study and family visit visas. residents,” he said.

He said that it improves bilateral relations between Angola and Portugal. “There were two years of intense activities, even taking into account the pandemic”, stressed the diplomat, for whom the relationship between the two States touches all areas of cooperation. “I leave with the feeling of having done everything that needed to be done to strengthen this relationship”, he concluded.
