Africa-Press – Angola. A report on “the politics of the 2022 general elections in Angola”, carried out by Angolan researchers and a Norwegian, was presented this Tuesday, in Luanda, by the Jean Piaget University.

The research took place in 2022 and aimed to carry out an analysis of the period before the election and the moment of publication of the results.

Speaking at the ceremony, held in the municipality of Viana, the coordinator of the Angola and Norway research programme, Vegad Bye, stressed that a very rigorous study had been carried out of the electoral programmes, interviews with representatives of political parties, analysis of observation of media coverage and participation in election rallies.

Present at the act, the president of the UNITA Parliamentary Group, Liberty Chyaka, considered the document a contribution to the academic and civic field, for the consolidation and deepening of a democratic state based on the rule of law.

The MPLA deputy, Mário Pinto de Andrade, appealed to the political parties, in their speeches, to avoid denigrating the work done by public institutions and to contribute to a more harmonious society.

On the occasion, jurist Domingos Betico considered it normal for educational institutions to take initiatives of this kind, due to their concern with the phenomena that occur in societies, including Angola.
