Jiu-Jitsu awaits nomination to organize African

Africa-Press – Angola. The management of the Angolan Federation of Jiu-Jitsu and Associated Disciplines (FAJUJ and DA) is looking forward to the appointment of the Multisectoral Commission to organize the eighth edition of the African Championship for adults, of both sexes, to be held in Luanda.

The competition, in the style of fighting system, duo system, newaza and show, will take place from the 23rd to the 28th of this month, at Arena do Kilamba.

The information was disclosed, yesterday, to Jornal de Angola, by the president of FAJUJ and DA, Luís John, after a meeting with an internal commission of the institution to hold the competition.

“The other administrative steps are being prevented. We held a technical meeting between FAJUJ and the African Union, with the supervision of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (JJIF)”, Luís John told JA.

The meeting with the two international institutions was held online and served to talk about the expenses related to transport, accommodation, food, as well as the subsidy of the referees in the competition.

The president of the Federation guaranteed that the sports delegations will start arriving on the stage of the competition on the 19th of this month.

In addition to Angola, which will compete with 50 athletes, the teams from Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Cameroon, Nigeria and Niger are confirmed.

On the 23rd, after the arrival of all sports delegations in Luanda, the athletes and officials will be accredited.

According to the event’s program, the athletes will be weighed in every day before the competitions.

The daily bouts will be preceded by a meeting between the referees.

The General Assembly of the African Jiu-Jitsu Union (JJAFU) is scheduled for the 27th.
