The corrections of movements for the Ne-Waza style (Brazilian jiu-jitsu) dominate today, starting at 8:00 am, the training sessions of the National Team of Honors, in the Annex I Pavilion of Cidadela, in Luanda, as part of the preparation for the dispute of the World Championship, taking place from the 29th of this month to the 8th of November, in the city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The training begins with demanding and essential warm-up exercises, followed by collective preparation and combats to improve some defects in attacks and defenses. For the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the national team will embark next Tuesday.
To compete in the World Cup, the athletes started training sessions last month, in Luanda, with physical work. The national coach, Vieira António, planned the dispute for the gold medal as an objective.
“The objective is to bring gold medals. We are focused only on gold. Working hard and for an easy fight”, he said. The coach made it known that athletes from Mauritania, Brazil, Greece and Japan are the main competitors in the dispute for gold.
Vieira António guaranteed that the athletes are qualified for the competition. “Everything is ready for the world championship and nothing is missing. The athletes are training well”, he highlighted.
To Abu Dhabi, the coaching staff takes athletes Daniel Sango, +94 kg, Adilson Muluta and Dianvuto Filipe (-94 kg), Giovani Garcia (+94 kg), Mimona Flávio (-77 kg), Felicidade Cassinda (-63 kg) ), Rodrigues Gambo (-85 kg), Sivi François (-62 kg), Marcelina Hoyala (-45 kg), João dos Santos and Ismael António (-69 kg) and Ruth Baltazar (-52 kg).
