JMPLA calls on youth to invest in knowledge

Africa-Press – Angola. The first national secretary of JMPLA, Crispiniano dos Santos, urged this Saturday, in Luanda, youth to invest in knowledge and participate, actively, in tasks aimed at consolidating peace, national reconciliation and reconstruction of the country.

On the occasion of the celebration of the beginning of the armed struggle for national liberation which takes place this Sunday, he emphasized that young people must do their best in their studies, to contribute to building a prosperous nation.

He highlighted the example of the heroes of the 4th of February, which should serve as motivation for new generations to participate in the process of creating conditions to improve the lives of the population.

For the JMPLA leader, young people, as continuators of the Nation’s development, must know the history to know where they come from and the path they must follow and always strengthen their patriotic feeling.

He noted that the date of the beginning of the Armed Struggle should serve as a way for younger generations to learn a little more about the heroic acts of their compatriots, protagonists of February 4, 1961, and for, fundamentally, society to learn to value more the people who were behind nationalist actions in general.

Hundreds of Angolans, from all origins, imbued with the nationalist spirit, contributed to the increase in actions that accelerated national independence, on November 11, 1975.

Crispiniano dos Santos said it is necessary to increasingly value this important date because history must be transmitted and preserved for all generations.

The first national secretary of JMPLA called on youth to invest heavily in knowledge, as it is one of the prerequisites for building strong Nations.

“We have young people committed to Angola and Angolans and others who need to “wake up” to the tasks of national reconstruction. Let’s wake up those who are “distracted” so that we can all be aligned and make Angola a good country to live in”, he pointed out.

Achievements of PR in the pacification of the continent

The JMPLA leader praised President João Lourenço’s efforts in pacifying the continent, especially in the Great Lakes region, a fact that led to him being distinguished with the title of “Champion of Peace and Reconciliation in Africa”.

“We have been following the work that President João Lourenço has done to pacify the continent, especially in the Great Lakes region and this is a great source of pride for us, young people”, he expressed.

The deputy also considered the President of the Republic as “a tireless leader, with integrity and committed to Angola and Angolans, in particular, and to the African continent in general”.

The Angolan President, João Lourenço, was distinguished, in 2022, with the title of Champion of Peace and Reconciliation in Africa, by the African Union (AU), at the Summit of Head of State and Government of this organization, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

The title is the result of the efforts that Angola has been undertaking, with João Lourenço leading the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), in the search for peace, dialogue and stability in several countries on the African continent.
