Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Bengo, Maria Nelumba, in Piri commune, Dembos municipality, appealed to young people to commit themselves to socio-economic and cultural development actions in the country.

Maria Nelumba, who was speaking at the opening of the Abril Jovem event, urged young people to promote and preserve peace and national unity, as a way of exalting the memory of the patron saint of Angolan youth, José Mendes de Carvalho “Comandante Hoji–ya–Henda”, Listed on April 14, 1968.

He recognized the active participation of the JMPLA in all noble causes in which the MPLA was involved, and the strategic importance of the Angolan youth in the country’s development process, in safeguarding Peace and consolidating democracy.

He recalled that the JMPLA has the duty to adequately prepare the youth of the MPLA and young people as a whole, for the upcoming challenges, at a time when the job market and society are increasingly demanding.

The first provincial secretary of JMPLA in Bengo, Júnior Simão, explained that the journeys aim to mobilize the youth for the country’s development actions, and promote among the youth fundamental values ​​such as love of the country, solidarity, volunteering and social justice.

Youth Day is celebrated on April 14.
