Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, highlighted, this Tuesday, in Luanda, the importance of the construction and land use sector in building infrastructures for the benefit of the population.
The statements were made during the inauguration of the new Secretary of State for Urbanism and Housing, Manuel André da Costa Canguezeze, appointed on Monday (22nd), by presidential decree.
The Angolan Head of State stressed that the sector is linked to the construction of infrastructure, such as roads, bridges and housing, which defines housing policies, “an essential asset for low-income populations”.
“We hope that with his appointment and taking office he will be able to help the portfolio holder to succeed in the mission he has been carrying out for some time”, he expressed.
The Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing (MINOPUH) is the auxiliary body of the Executive Power, which is responsible for proposing the formulation of policies, executing and controlling the Executive’s programs and projects in the fields of its activity.
