João Lourenço: "Measures to empower the private sector are having an effect"

Africa-Press – Angola. MPLA leader João Lourenço said today in Luanda that all the measures taken by the Executive in the last five years to empower the private sector of the economy “are having an effect”.

“What we did during this mandate was to value the private sector of our economy, encouraging it and giving it an opportunity for growth so that it (the private sector) starts to play its true role as partners of the State in the production of goods and services. , but also in the creation of jobs for Angolans, in particular for the youth”, stressed the MPLA president.

João Lourenço, who was speaking at the last mass political act, in Camama, as part of the electoral campaign for the General Elections on 24 August, promised to make more financial resources and credit available to serve the different sectors of the economy, namely Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Industry, in order to make the national business “stronger”.

The MPLA candidate for President of the Republic also considered the agreement signed more than three years ago between the Angolan Government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) “a success”.

Addressing the party’s militants, friends and supporters, João Lourenço highlighted the various projects that are underway and others to be built, if he wins the general elections, with emphasis on housing, energy and water, oil, roads, banking, among others.
