Africa-Press – Angola. Ambassador João Neto handed over his Credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan this Wednesday in Ankara. During the ceremony, which took place at the Presidential Palace, the Angolan diplomat conveyed President João Lourenço’s greetings to the Turkish Head of State, and also reiterated the Angolan Government’s commitment to strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, according to a press release.
Ambassador João Salvador dos Santos Neto was appointed on 7 January this year from the People’s Republic of China, where he served as head of mission for around seven years, and becomes Angola’s 3rd ambassador to Turkey.
Angola and Turkey established diplomatic relations on 9 July 1980.
Cooperation relations began in 2008, the year in which the Commercial, Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed in Ankara between the two Governments.
