Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Ambassador Joaquim do Espírito Santo delivered, in Kingstown, to the Governor General of São Vicente and the Grenadines, Dame Susan D. Dougan, the Letters of Credential that make him official as head of the diplomatic mission in that archipelago, with the status of non-resident.
After the ceremony, Joaquim do Espírito Santo had a long meeting with the Prime Minister, Ralph Gonsalves, with whom he reviewed the international situation.
The two diplomats decided to work on a draft General Cooperation Agreement, aimed at strengthening relations between the two states.
Joaquim do Espírito also met with the leader of the opposition and with the dean of the diplomatic corps accredited to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Joaquim do Espírito Santo, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola to the United States of America, residing in Washington DC, is also the representative of the Angolan state in ten countries, with emphasis on Canada and Mexico.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a Caribbean country located in the Lesser Antilles. Its capital, Kingstown, is located on the island of São Vicente, and is the main urban center in the country.
With an area of 389 km², its territory consists mainly of the island of Saint Vincent and the remaining two-thirds of the Grenadines, which are a chain of smaller islands that extend south from Saint Vincent Island towards Grenada.
The main island of São Vicente is 18 km long, 11 km wide and 344 km² in area. The Grenadine Islands, in their entirety, cover 60.4 kilometers, with a total area of 45 km². Most of the nation lies within the Hurricane Belt.
